Because of the sheer volume of un-inter-related information. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets that bogged down feeling after a few hours of surfing.

If you want to make the most of what you find on the net, the trick is to find a few sites that you really like and stick with them. This is one place where "less is more" really does hold true.



If you have other children then you'll already know that children's books are an absolute treasure trove of stimulation to the creative side of your brain.

If you don't already know this, a quick trip to your local childrens' library will soon prove my point. There's way more to childrens' literature than the classic Peter Rabbit or Jemima Puddleduck.

Spend a quiet hour or two just leafing through the stunning illustrations to be found in so many childrens' books and you will soon be brimming with ideas for baby nursery themes.



This idea comes from spending way too much time with my not-so-small-anymore babies. I think I must have seen every kids movie out!

But I have to admit, while there are only so many times that one can watch Happy Feet and still sing along, some of the movies I have seen with my children have been adorable.

Have you ever seen The Waterhorse, for example, or Flicker, or Eight Down Below? Each of these makes an absolutely gorgeous starting point for a baby nursery theme. And there are hundreds more.

This next one may seem obvious, but when was the last time you sat down with a hot cup of tea and let your mind wander back to days gone by?

We all have some wonderful memories of childhood - even if there were only a few special moments. Try to remember the things that were around you when you remember having fun or feeling happy - Was it your new puppy or your favorite teddy bear? Perhaps you had a favorite place you liked to go to.

Have you ever noticed how time seems to stand still out in the open air? Away from life's daily hustle and bustle, your mind slows down to a jog instead of a frantic scramble, and you begin to take in the beauty of life again.

Where do you like to go to unwind or get away from it all? Whether you take a trip into the mountains, a jog along the beach or set out a simple picnic under a shady old oak tree, you're sure to find inspiration for your nursery room theme in nature if you allow it to speak to you.
