I was looking for something different and didn't want a super girly nursery. I wanted something classic. I chose to go with Coral and light Aqua as the accent.
What brand and color of paint did you use?
The bottom part of the wall was just a plain white color mixed from what I had around the house and the top was called Dolphin Fin by Behr.
What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
The crib came from Amazon and was the Munire Medford Convertible Crib, White
What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
The dresser was also purchased from Amazon (Munire Medford 6 Drawer Dresser, White), the bookcase was from PBK (Catalina 3-shelf) and I covered the backing in a fabric that was also used for the cribskirt and rocking chair cushion. The Rocking Chair was purchased from Lowe's.
What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
This was a bit tricky as finding the "right" coral was difficult. The crib sheet came from an Etsy store called LottieDaBaby as did the changing pad cover.
The crib skirt and the rocking chair cushion was made by my sister in law with fabric (Waverly Duncan Damask Twill Coral)I purchased from Fabric.com. You can see there are also some pillows in the crib that she made with it.
I also had a blankie made with the First and Middle name from CrownMinkyBlankets on Etsy.
Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
The Curtains came from Bed Bath and Beyond and was the very first thing I purchased. Everything stemmed from that.
The bird mobile came from the Modish Store.
The three panels above the crib came from the Etsy store SummerSnow and the woman was awesome about working with me on customizing the middle one to say Lydia.
The lamp on the bookcase came from Amazon and I filled it with flowers that were from Pier 1. The aqua blanket also came from Pier 1.
The Aqua standing frame on the bookcase and the frame above the bookcase came from the ThePictureHook on Etsy.
The Love Birds print came from the Etsy store LightheartedDreamer.
The cherry blossom print came
from CarolineMint on Etsy.
The Oh The Places You'll Go print came from SweetPeonyPress on Etsy.
The middle ornate picture frame came unfinished from SugarGramsDecor on Etsy.
The Mirror frame above the dresser came from RevivedVintage on Etsy. I had a local store fit a mirror for the frame as it was $200 cheaper than buying it with the mirror already in it.
The Monogram on the closet door came from MonogramsyLetters on Etsy, unfinished. And I changed out the plain white knobs on the dresser for rose knobs that I found at ATG Stores.
How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Right now there are two baskets holding various items on the floor. I have baskets in my two son's rooms and it makes clean up easy for me and them. Those baskets came from The Container Store and are actually Laundry Baskets.
How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
Overall it took a total of about two months and it was all of the above. I loved decorating a girls room as I have two boys, but it was really difficult because as you can tell almost every single thing in that room came from a different place. Making sure the corals matched and the aqua's were the right shade was really difficult and since most of it was online it was a lot of guesswork and research. Overall, I think it turned out well and is something that ended up being pretty unique.
Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
I did most of the nursery. However, I had a handyman come in and install the ceiling light fixture and hang the mirror. I wanted to make sure that thing was properly and securely anchored.
What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?
I just love how everything came together. It's one thing to imagine something in your head, but another to actually see it take shape in front of you.
I love how light and airy it feels. That was really important to me as it was a dark, dark purple color before (previous homeowners) and there is only one small window.
