Delilah's Ice Cream Nursery

Delilah's Ice Cream Nursery

The ice cream nursery was my idea. I had a general idea of colors but the rest just came to me as I did it. I used BEHR Paint. The pink is Hawaiian Shell, and the brown is Fudge Bar. The polka dot border is "Mod Dots" by JoJo Designs. The crib is from Ikea's Leksvik collection.

The changing table is also from Ikea's Leksvik collection. The futon is from walmart.com. The rocking chair used to be my mother's. There is also a Closetmaid 9-Cube Organizer with pink bins.

My grandmother is hand making the bedding for us. It is not in the picture.

The window valances were made by my grandmother. The blinds were bought from Wal-Mart. The rug is a pink shag rug from Target. Wall Decor (pictured): A painting by my sister, "It's Never Too Late To Have A Happy Childhood." and initials from Babies R Us. Wall Decor (Not pictured): White cube shelves with Dr. Seuss beanies and figurines, prints I drew of 4 zoo animals, and a hand painted framed wooden name plate.

Baby goodies are in baskets on open shelves under the changing table, in the closets, and in bins in the Closetmaid organizer.

It took us about two weeks from start to finish. It was a lot of fun to complete. My favorite part is the prints that I drew of the zoo animals.

My husband and I decorated the nursery together. He did the painting and the heavy installation (shelves, blinds etc) and I did the artwork and the smaller hangings.

What I love most about the nursery is that there is something from all the women in my family: My sister's painting, my drawings, my grandmother's curtains and bedding, and my mother's rocking chair.
