All I know is that I wanted the colors of the room to be blue and brown but I wanted to incorporate jungle animals. My inspiration did not come from anything specific I bought. I just bought little things and it all just came together.
What brand and color of paint did you use?
I just used crafting paint from hobby lobby in a variety of blues and browns.
What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
It was a Storkcraft crib combo from Walmart.
What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
Majority of the furniture I bought was Storkcraft from Walmart
What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
I didn't use a bedding set. I bought the sheets and blankets and bumper separately.
Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
I ordered the blue curtains online. The lamp I bought from Walmart and most of the wall decor and accessories were bought from flea markets and yard sales. I painted them to match the room. Most of the room decor is painted by me. And the flower arrangements are made by me.
How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
I have two dressers to store all of his clothes. All of his stuffed animals are displayed on a shelf and all the extra goodies are in baskets and canvas totes.
How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
I worked on this room for about 2 days straight. It was sooo much fun but it was not very easy. I had a bunch of stuff already and I had to somehow incorporate it all into this little boy safari theme. That took a lot of planning, organizing, thinking and, of course, painting. But I loved every minute of it.
Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
I decorated the nursery on my own but my friend, Alfonso, was there for guidance and gave me some ideas if I got stuck.
What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love how it is elegant, yet fun at the same time. You can tell it's a little boy's nursery but it is not too cutesy and everything just blends and fits together. I am very proud of this room.
