Modern Baby Boy Nursery
Homemade baby mobile

We wanted to make the room a little different while incorporating raw materials like timber, concrete and feathers, but still keeping it modern.

We found an old cot, stripped it back and painted it black. This was where the design of the room began.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

Dulux - twisted rope.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Delta cot but we stripped it back and painted it black!

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

All the furniture except the replica rocking chair we made or upcycled.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The rug was a gift - it's beautiful soft sheep's wool. The lighting is a brass hanging pendant. Replica hanger and the big beautiful tiger print from zazzle.

Another feature of the room is the mobile I hand made out of timber, feathers, beads and chains.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

Baby's things are stored in large upcycled drawers and a mint green woven basket.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It was my favourite thing to do! My partner and I have very similar taste and enjoyed spending time doing this together.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My partner and I did it together.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

We just can't wait to sit in this room, read him stories, rock him to sleep and watch him grow!!
