Music Nursery

My husband and I are music lovers. In fact, our daughter attended her first concert in utero at 4 months. She attended the Mumford and Sons concert! 

Her room was inspired by the type of music we love : cool, calm, comfort. 

We used neutral like colours and added a large white wainscoting look all around the room. 

I had custom artwork done by an artist that I found on etsy. Lyrics from the song, Below My Feet, by Mumford and Sons, was completed and custom framed and hung above her crib. The lyrics are as follows: keep the earth below my feet, let me learn from where I have been, keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

Custom drapes, curtains from pottery barn.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

Took about two months in total. My favourite part of decorating my daughter's room was ordering and choosing the custom made prints mentioned above.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My husband, brother and father helped with installing the wainscoting. My husband did all the painting and furniture assembly.


What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

Everything!
My favourite would still be the custom made prints mentioned above. It makes her room truly unique.
