Pink and Brown Baby Nursery

Brooklyn's nursery was inspired by my love of brown and pink, and what better color for a little girl than pink! We also wanted something that wasn’t too “themey” and would go well with many different animals especially pigs! We pulled ideas from many different rooms and pictures that we have seen.

We painted all four walls in Sherwin Williams Childlike Pink #6569 and on the main wall we painted large 10 inch stripes in Sherwin Williams Lighthearted Pink #6568. We also painted the closet in Sherwin Williams Lighthearted Pink #6568. We added a large 30 inch monogram of her initials above her crib. We also added wall art of a tree and birds to one wall that we purchased from Kohl's.

To paint the stripes on the main wall, my husband first painted the entire wall in the Sherwin Williams Childlike Pink #6569. Then he measured out how wide the stripes would be and used Frog Tape from Lowe's to tape off the stripes so they would be straight. He then painted every other stripe in Sherwin Williams Lighthearted Pink #6568.

We bought our beautiful crib and baby furniture from Baby Furniture Plus Kids store in Greenville, SC. The brand is Baby's Dream Furniture Inc. in Legendary. We got the Legendary Curved top crib, matching tall bookshelf, and matching dresser, all in espresso. We changed the knobs on the dresser to crystal knobs from Lowe's and bought a crystal lamp from T.J. Maxx in

Simpsonville, SC. We also bought a small Westmore chandelier from Lowe's to complete the look.

We bought our beautiful nursery bedding from Baby Furniture Plus Kids store in Greenville, SC. It is by Bananafish Bedding in the "Brooke" pattern. We loved the versatile pattern on the bedding and thought it would go well with different animals without going "theme crazy!"

My mother was lucky enough to find the matching bedding fabric at Hancock fabrics in Greenville, SC to make handmade curtains. She made long curtains to help block some of the sun and tied ribbons at the top to complete the look.

I painted the pig painting on the wall above her dresser and Brooklyn loves to look at it!

It took us about 2 months to finish the nursery, to find the perfect furniture, bedding,paint colors, and accessories. It was lots of fun to design!

My husband did most of the manual labor. He put together the furniture and arranged the room multiple times until we found the perfect layout! He also did all the painting and hung the curtain. I organized the dresser and the closet.

What I love most about Brooklyn's nursery is the sense of calm when you walk in the room. We think it looks so elegant and calming and isn't too busy and we hope Brooklyn will love it when she gets older!
