by Alex Tkaczyk
Striped Modern Baby Boy Nursery
I really like stripes so I knew I wanted to start with that. I saw in Sherwin williams brochure, paint swatches in 3 pretty, soothing colors and I knew I wanted to use them to do my striped wall. Colors are: yellow, blue and light grey. What brand and color of paint did you use? Sherwin Williams: for blue - stream sw 6499, for yellow - friendly yellow sw 6680, for light grey - misty sw6232 If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it. I used a laser I bought at home depot to get straight lines and then I used frog tape to make straight stripes. What brand of crib did you buy? Where from? the Land of Nod Store. What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it? Ikea- Changing Table, dresser and sleeping sofa. What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it? Babies r us - sheets and bumper Target - crib skirt Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade? Ikea - standing lamp. Home Goods - sofa pillows. At home ( Garden Ridge) - shelf over the sofa. Babies r us - chevron print hamper and chevron changing table pad cover, dresser lamp. The Container Store - baskets and bins. Name above the dresser - made by myself using fabrics and canvases. How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves? Baskets, bins, shelf. How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part? It took me a week to put everything together in the room. Adding stripes to the wall was the hardest. The favorite part was to decorate with little stuff after all the furniture were assembled. Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do? My husband helped with assembling the furniture and to paint the stripes on the wall. What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room? I love the soothing, relaxing colors throughout the room and the name Max I added above the dresser I made with fabrics and canvases. ![]() ![]() If you're having trouble getting started with your baby room, don't miss my nursery decorating guide: Nursery Design Step-by-Step.
