Vintage Circus Nursery

Vintage Circus Nursery

The inspiration for my Vintage Circus Nursery came from some vintage posters I found. I was having a difficult time picking a theme for my baby boy's nursery. I didn't want to do anything that was too common or too babyish. I also wanted to stick with the look of our 1904 home.

I had a million ideas for a girl's room but I was blessed with a son instead. So I decided to go onto Ebay for some vintage inspiration.

I spotted these vintage Barnum and Bailey and Ringling Brothers circus posters. Perfect! I thought. Vintage Circus.

So, I ordered repro circus prints framed in antique white frames, painted the room like a tent, and then shopped for circus theme tin toys and vintage trinkets to display on the book shelf.

The palette is red, white, dusty blue, and chocolate brown which is also vintage in feel.

The red striped pillows hint towards popcorn boxes and circus tents while the vintage wooden circus mobile (also found on Ebay) gets straight to the point.

Gosh, I wish I could be this creative. This sure is a lucky child that has this room. Great job! And congrats on your new addition. One of the best nurseries I have seen - celebrity, professional designer, all of those - this is at the top of my all-time-favorites list. Again...WOW!

So awesome!
by: Stephanie Christine

This is by far the best entry! It is unique and not "store bought"! The cool thing about it is that the theme will carry on until your baby boy is 5+. You won't have to trade it for something less "babyish." I love it!

So cute

Alice's Little Darling

You did a great job. Fran and Alice are lucky to have such a talented Daughter In Law. All the room needs now is a picture of Grandfather Fran in his circus shoes.

The tent facade is ingenious, and I am sure all stuffed animals will feel right at home in the circus big top. Awesome.

Classic craftmanship & excellent design

This room is wonderful! The colors are soothing, yet the design is vibrant. The ceiling treatment is exceptional and the walls are very clever. This room will keep the baby's attention for a long time, and not drive Mom and Dad crazy at 2am......
