Winnie the Pooh Nursery on a Budget

by Jen
(usa)

When we began decorating our second son's room we were using the furniture (crib, changing table, dresser, etc...) from our older sons room. This meant we had one thing going for us - the big pieces of furniture were already done.

The only difficulty is that we would have to pick paint colors and decorations to match the furniture that we already had.

We decided to go with the Winnie the Pooh theme.

We began by buying the wall stickers, this is a great and cost effective way to decorate a room for your baby (here is one site that you can find them http://www.wallstickeroutlet.com/winnie-the-pooh-decals.php). We then picked a mint green, which worked perfectly with the colors in the decals we had chosen.

We used the blanket from the baby bedding set as a wall hanging. The baby can't be put in bed with the blanket that size anyway so we figured why not make use of it for a wall decoration.

We added one additional touch. We bought Winnie the Pooh puzzles and put them together. As we were putting the puzzle together we glued it on a piece of cardboard. Once the puzzles were completed we framed them and used the pictures for additional wall hangings.

Finally to save some money we found a Winnie the Pooh lamp at a Goodwill store. Not only did it match perfectly with the room but we were able to purchase it for less than $10.

If you use some of these tips (wall decals, bedding set blanket as a wall hanging, puzzles framed as additional wall hangings and some pre-loved lamps) you will be able to create an adorable baby nursery without breaking the bank.
